Hello DIA Families:
As we continue to be diligent and deliberate with our school wide safety plan, I wanted to provide you with some important updates and State of Georgia requirements:
1. As required by Georgia law, we have conducted two schoolwide fire drills within the month of August and will conduct a safety drill every month during the school year.
2. As required by Georgia law, we will conduct a schoolwide Active Shooter drill on Wednesday September 18, 2024.
3. All Staff receive ongoing training on school safety measures including lockdown protocol, door lock safety, emergency procedures and other school safety requirements.
4. For added safety, we have designated school safety personnel located at each campus with the continued responsibility of campus safety and security.
Please note that the "Active Shooter" drill mentioned above will be conducted according to guidelines established by GEMA and local authorities. The drill will be non-threatening and will emphasize procedures and protocols in case of a presented emergency.
